CV-SALTS (Central Valley Salinity Alternatives for Long-Term Sustainability)
CV-SALTS is a collaborative, stakeholder-driven program working to develop long-term solutions for salt and nitrate management in California’s Central Valley. The initiative brings together regulatory agencies, agricultural representatives, municipalities, industries, and community members to address complex water quality challenges in a practical and sustainable way.
Operating under the Central Valley Water Board’s regulatory framework, CV-SALTS implements the Salt and Nitrate Control Program to protect groundwater and surface water resources. The program focuses on safeguarding drinking water supplies, supporting agricultural sustainability, and promoting responsible water management practices throughout the region.
